How Much Does Eat Your World Pay?
We occasionally assign paid, original articles stemming from a successful pitch ($75-$125, depending on length and scope). Anything with a local food angle is fair game, though we do have a few regular columns in place. This is according to the Eat Your World blog.

EatingWell has been publishing award-winning journalism about food, nutrition and sustainability for over 30 years.EatingWell was founded in 1990 by the editors of Harrowsmith Country Life (a homesteading magazine) in Charlotte, Vermont.
It is their mission to share flavour-packed recipes from all around the globe.
For people who enjoy cooking scrumptious and healthy meals why not write for EatingWell, which has over 1 million readers? Can you write nutritious recipes? Write in a style that is journalistic and has an authoritative tone. If you think this is you then EatingWell would love to hear from you.

3. EXTRA CRISPY.
Extra Crispy is on the lookout for opinion pieces, personal essays, illustrated narratives, breakfast profiles of people, original recipes and unusual points of breakfast views. Please no restaurant reviews.
Please make sure to read Extra Crispy before you submit a pitch. The reason is if you have done so Extra Crispy will most likely pick on that and your pitch will stick out and likely won’t be accepted.
Check, check to make sure your story has not been used before or something very close to it.
Don’t send half-baked ideas as a pitch. Only send fully formed ideas with a point of view. Extra Crispy receives lots of pitches. Be specific when submitting your pitch.
Pay is approximately $0.47 per word and the article length is 800 to 1,000 words long.

4. SAVEUR.
Do you have wonderful, amazing stories about food and travel trips you want to share with the rest of the world?
Saveur aims to broaden reader’s perspectives on food. If you want to submit your story read the guidelines for submitting stories. And include links to your past work if this is possible.
The length of the article is not specified on the website. Pay is up to $1 per word but this depends on whether the article is published in print or on the Saveur website.
5. KITCHEN WORK.
Kitchen Work is a printed journal of food and the table, the pantry and the wine cellar, gardens, farms, markets, dining rooms and cafeterias. Stories from kitchens both big and small.
Kitchen Work accepts the following submissions of up to 3,000 words:

Write a brief (100 words or fewer) cover letter in the email body, including word count, and characterization of the submission as non-fiction, fiction or poetry, or of the illustration.
Please submit writing as attachments formatted in Microsoft Word or with Google Docs. Illustrations may be submitted as PDFs.
Please note that only previously unpublished works will be considered for publication. If your submission is accepted you will receive a response within 30 days.
Current Rates.
Pay is $0.20 per word. Illustrators are paid $100 per accepted illustration.
