What is a website tester, what do they do? A website tester is paid to test websites for different companies.

As a website tester you’ll give your opinion about the website you are testing. For some companies, you may need to pass an example test.

Working as a website tester would be a part-time job; very few people can be website testers full-time. 

There are more website testers than there are customers. Also, do not expect to receive daily website tests to perform.

It is hard to pinpoint exactly how many tests you will qualify for, as some months you may get none and other months you may get many invites. It’s hard to say.

To up your chances of earning more money, sign up to as many websites as you can.

Some of the user-testing websites are open to countries all over the world, while others are restricted to certain countries.

WHAT DO YOU NEED IN ORDER TO BE A WEBSITE TESTER?

Updated PC or laptop( some companies do allow you to use a tablet)

High-speed stable internet connection

A proper microphone

A mouse and a keyboard

You may need a webcam

A good command of English, both written and spoken, as some of the companies may require you to write a report after you have completed a website test for them.


1. USER TESTING 

User Testing has paid over $1,200,000 to test participants in 2019 and over 3,000,000 tests have been performed.

User Testing pays you to share your opinions and experiences. Sign up to User Testing, take the test, and if you qualify you will be paid.

To work for User Testing you must be 18 years old. User Testing has participants from all over the world.

You must complete a sample test with User Testing. Once approved you can start performing real tests to earn money.

PAYMENT

Earn $10 for every 20-minute test you complete, and even for interviews.

You are paid via PayPal.

2. USERPEEK

Userpeek pays testers to visit a website or app, complete a set of tasks, and speak their thoughts out loud.

You must 18 years old to apply to work for Userpeek.

You must be able to think out loud in clearly-spoken English.

To apply to become a tester you must be able to open a PayPal account in the country where you reside.

Userpeek is looking for testers from all around the world.

PAYMENT

You will earn $10 for every 15-20 minutes of website testing video that is approved.

Userpeek pays you via PayPal.

3. TESTER WORK

Joining a community of 40000+ testers from around the world and earn money by testing websites and apps.

Sign up to Tester Work by creating your profile and adding information about your device list, language skills,and the country you live in.

You must pass a short Q&A  test.

Once you have completed the registration you will be sent information via email based on your profile information.

Accept the test invitations, report bugs, and/or complete test cases.

PAYMENTS

The amount you will be paid per test is always clearly displayed in the test invitation you receive by email.

You will be paid per bug found or fixed amount for test case execution.

You will be paid via PayPal or Upwork contract.

4. USERZOOM

You must be 18 years and older to work for UserZoom. UserZoom is open to people all over the world.

To work for UserZoom you must be able to download UserZoom’s certified testing software.

You must register and answer  three basic proofing questions.

Most tests take between 10-20 minutes to complete. The munber of invitations you will receive depends on where you live and your quality rating.

PAYMENTS

Payments are made via PayPal. How much you will earn will depend on the complexity of the study.

Earnings vary between $2 (standard survey) and $10.

5. TRY MY UI

Get paid to use websites and by giving your honest feedback.

You must be able to voice your thoughts out loud so that the site developers can understand your experience.

After some of the tests, you many need to write a short wrap-up survey.

PAYMENTS

You are paid $10 for each test you perform. Tests take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

6. VALIDATELY

You must be able to speak your thoughts aloud and answer questions regarding a website or app.

You must be 18 years and older to join Validately. You must be able to speak English fluently.

The application process is long: you have to fill your profile info to qualify for certain tests.

Validately lets you perform tests on a PC or a smartphone.

PAYMENTS

Payment amounts vary depending on the type of test you do. Pay ranges between $10 and $70.

Talk-aloud tests pay $5 to $10, and live-moderated tests pay out at least $25 per test.

Pay ranges between $5 and $20. Some of the projects pay as much as $90 (for some tests).

8. ENROLL

With Enroll you can take tests anywhere on your phone, tablet, desktop, or laptop.

PAYMENT

Payment for tests varies between $0.10 and $1.50 for each test you perform. The minimum cash-out amount is $1.

For each test you take you are paid via PayPal.
