BECOME A FOOD BLOGGER.
Do you have so many recipes that you are wondering what to do with your recipes?
Why not start your own blog sharing your yummy recipes with the rest of the world? And don’t worry if you are not tech-savvy. You can learn as you build your blog. When I started blogging, I had no clue, and I learned by watching YouTube videos and reading blogging articles on Google.
Top food bloggers earn over $ 50,000 per month. Blogging is a popular way to share your recipes, and it’s a bonus when your blog starts making money.
Once you have a good following, you can start monetising your blog with display ads, affiliate links and sponsored posts. While you wait for your blog to take off, you can also sell food recipes to other content creators. Facebook has many groups where content creators buy and sell content.
Blogging takes time and is very time-consuming at first. It may take time before you see any results. Many people tend to give up after six months of blogging. Doesn’t it take up to 8 months before you start seeing decent traffic? You will attract new readers by remaining persistent and posting new content consistently.
Sadly, many new bloggers give up too soon.
START A HOME STYLE RESTAURANT.
Have you heard of ghost kitchens, also referred to as dark kitchens?
These restaurants only offer away foods and do not offer dine-in or sitting down. If you have a passion for cooking, you can research starting a similar setup at home. People can place orders with you ahead of time and pick up their prepared meals, or you can deliver them to customers.
If you do not want to deliver meals to customers, use one of the many delivery apps such as Uber Eats, Zomato, Grubhub, Instacart, Doordash, or Postmates. Research and find out which delivery app works best in the city/town you live in.
You decide on how much to charge for your meals. Set up your own menu. The platform you choose to use will deliver the food to customers. You will be paid minus a commission at the end of the month. Most delivery apps take a commission.
START A CATERING BUSINESS.
How often do you come across a Facebook and see that someone is looking for a caterer to cater for a private function such as a wedding, baby shower, office event, or bridal shower? If you are a good cook, this is another way for you to put your skills to good use and make money.
It may take time to build a name for yourself. Once people know you provide quality service and go above and beyond for your clients, word of mouth will help your business.
TEACH COOKING CLASSES IN PERSON.
Did you go to a culinary school and qualify as a chef?
If you did, why not give in-person cooking lessons from home? You could also rent out a venue and provide cooking lessons from the venue a few times a week. You can offer one-on-one and group lessons. Put feelers out in the city/town you live in to find out if there is a demand for cooking lessons.
I know that in East London (South Africa), the city I live in, a few people offer cooking lessons, be it small classes or for large groups.
Teaching cooking classes is a great way for you to make money if you are a good cook.
TEACH COOKING CLASSES ONLINE.
If, for some reason, you are not able to give cooking classes from home. You can teach cooking classes online.
SELL COOKING COURSES ONLINE.
You could also make money by selling cooking courses online. Research online and find out which are the most reputable sites to join and sell your cooking courses online.
MAKE MONEY WRITING FOOD RECIPES.

MAKE MONEY BY SELLING FOOD CONTENT.
There are so many possibilities to make money by selling food content.
You can write food recipes and then sell the recipes to bloggers and other content creators who work in the food space. Specialise in one or two cuisines and build a name for yourself as the go-to food content creator in that niche. For instance, you could name yourself the go-to creator for vegan or dairy-free recipes.
Make sure all your recipes work 100%, and it is always a good idea to be able to have substitute ingredients for the recipe. Many food bloggers will often say you can use mutton if you do not have lamb. Try not to use ingredients that are hard to find/source. Keep the recipes easy to follow with clear instructions, preferably step by step.
No one wants to start a recipe and, after a while, realise that they are not so sure what exactly the steps are!
It’s a bonus if you can include high-quality photos and even some video shorts of the recipe.
START YOUR OWN YOUTUBE CHANNEL.
Admit it if you enjoy watching YouTube food videos.
My kids and I like to watch Tasty food videos, especially their chocolate brownie videos. The brownies look so yummy. YouTube is such a well-known platform for sharing your food knowledge and recipes with the world. Are you shy and not keen on showing your face? There is no need to show your face. You can have a faceless YouTube channel.
Be Amazed is a very successful YouTube channel, and he never shows his face. I have not seen his face and have watched many Be Amazed videos.
Think of all the food-related topics you can start and share with everyone. Like with blogging, it will take time before youbegint to gain a following and have subscribers. YouTube is a good platform for creating a passive income online. Okay, you do have to put in all the work, but the thing is, once you have viewers, they can watch your videos anytime.
If your channel is monetised with ads, then you can earn a passive income when people watch your videos. You can also have affiliate links and sponsored videos. Live streaming is a great way to interact with your viewers. You can have a Q and A session. Having giveaways is another way to get subscribers to your channel.
Joshua Weissman has a very popular YouTube food channel and receives millions of monthly views.
CONCLUSION: WAYS TO MAKE MONEY IF YOU ARE A GOOD COOK.
So, if you are a good cook or a qualified chef looking for ways to make money using your culinary skills, then I hope these ideas help you. Remember, these are only a few of the ways to make money if you are a good cook.
It is important to follow your country’s laws, rules and guidelines for running a food business from home. If you are unsure what to do to make extra money cooking from home, investigate and see if there is a gap in the market that you can fill. Here in East London (South Africa) where I live, it is so hard to find a decent butter croissant.

However, I think something has filled the gap: opening a restaurant and catering business that makes yummy butter croissants and other yummy pastries. I have heard they also make divine poached eggs with hollandaise sauce.
